Problems?

I think I have the usual steering wheel issue, intermittent of course. The wheel seems to either be jammed slightly higher than ideal or drops into my lap. Wheel moves to an fro without issue, just the vertical plane that's the problem. I have looked on here and elsewhere, some point to removing the cowl and tightening the nut on the end of the spindle, or is it the nut issue, motor seems to work fine otherwise. Any thoughts?

When slowing down to turn into a road there is sometimes a very slight jerk from the transmission, I can't say if it was there before or not, is this par for the course or the signs of a developing problem. Had thought to get a transmission flush as its now 66K.

If there's a stone, fly or bird about, you can be sure it'll end up on the front bumper or screen!
