Thats why they now have reserved seats or speedy boarding Yellow interior thats what iPads are for

Not sure about other airports, but at Luton, the staff in Boots have them on a printout next to the till a good hour or so ahead of them appearing on the boards - keep it to yourselves though

Not being funny but this is a bit illogical..

Why rush to a gate? Its not going anywhere and your only goin to be at down for yonks..

I take my time and pootle over to the gate letting all the plebs queue up to struggle into their seat and with their carry on.

I arrive at the gate just as the queue has all but gone and well before departure and then have no issues loading my carry on in the lockers over head, and getting into my seat

The 24hr check in is good as well, if your desperate enough to need the seat thy far in advance or that special seat you love pay the few, otherwise its only fair that no matter what price you pay for the seat in cattle class everyone is given the same chance to lock in their seats I'm just in my room now waitin to lock in my return seats now in the next hour while having a rest after enjoying the weather at the top of the rockerfeller earlier then off for steaks and beers  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

they are a total nightmare: here are my problems summarised in a rant sent to newspapers! :

I have been appalled in recent months by the attitude of British Airways to passengers with allergies. As a nut allergy sufferer myself, this has been most alarming. On a summer flight from LAX to Heathrow, I was given the customary in-flight meal; a chicken curry. I asked the steward if it was safe for me to eat. Having left to check, he returned to inform me that it would be "absolutely fine". Thus I ate it, and needless to say, suffered an allergic reaction, and spent the rest of the overnight flight vomiting and wheezing in a most distressing manner. This was very concerning, as according to the in flight map, we were halfway over the Atlantic, hours from Reykjavik or New York. Had my reaction been more severe my life would have been in jeopardy.

I contacted BA customer relations when back in the UK to inform them of this frightening episode, and waited in agitated radio silence for over two months. Eventually a generic email returned, belittling my dangerous experience as me 'feeling unwell' and saying that an 'investigation' would be launched. Five months passed, no response. I sent a more strongly worded email stating my displeasure at being pushed aside, copying in the chairman this time. I finally received a somewhat begrudging response, and a £200 'good will' voucher (the same as that given to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the inconvenience of broken TV Screens on their US tour flights).

In spite of this, I am still not satisfied, as the company has ruled out my suggestion that labels detailing ingredients should be posted on the outside of food served on airlines, as seen on most packaged food. Am I alone in thinking in an age where so many people have specific dietary requirements, this should be an absolute necessity, for long haul flights at least?

Did you not warn them before the flight that you had a sever nut allergy? If so then if be pushing for more than the £200 refund!

Quite a few flights I've been on have had a total nut ban on varying airlines to make sure affected people are not put at risk for this very reason, ie no but products on the flight in the meals or carts and people warned of they brought any onboard with them they could risk a ban on further flights for non compliance, which I think is only fair to be honest.

I recall one with a dairy allergy. They asked for people to volunteer to seat in the 5 rows in front of them Who wouldn't consume any for the flight which was about 5hours long and the affected person sat right at the back of the plane to make it easier as well. They were perfectly aware of it! I just cant be a d with their atrocious customer feedback department anymore tbh... has been the best part of a year since the flight and they only got back to me after much banging together of heads...

I know, many ban nuts completely: to conceal them in meals to the extent that they can't be tasted is just a bit thick though!

I don't want to ruin everyone else's dining experience but IMO the nuts added nothing to the meal in question anyhow! Its just like lacing the food!

I think I'll just have to vote with my feet... ah Mr Branson, I see you run an airline too...

I'm not much of a BA fan. Lufthansa are miles better and I agree with the comment about preferring Emirates on long-haul.

But I recently did BA (no choice) to Mumbai and found the staff and crew very helpful. I wasn't taken with the BA app and found BA's policy of charging you extra to get a seat of your choice very distasteful.

But the plane was pretty new, the flights good and I got what I wanted.

I'd still have taken a Virgin, Emirates or Singapore flight over that BA one given the choice though. Si. <This is my name.

I only stand in the queue when it's free seating - now both EasyJet & Ryanair let you book a seat, there's no longer a need.

I usually travel hand luggage only and just want to be out & gone - first off the plane & first through immigration - usually at Bordeaux, I can be in my car driving out of the car park and there are still people coming down the steps from the plane Admittedly, that's because EasyJet & Ryanair have their own little terminal & you can park right outside as everyone else wants to park in front of the main terminal building, but it still makes me feel good.
