my system says that VIN was built 2006 and is a TDV8

Hi Joker, think the VIN info is wrong way around for 7th character. You say if 7th character is a number it is pre 2010 and if a letter, then car is 2010 onwards, but mine is a 2006 car and 7th character is the letter 'M' . Just spotted it as I wanted to see what my VIN meant and saw your thread. Steve
