Other caliper now binding!

Arrrgh Chaps and Chapettes,

Having had one rear caliper replaced last year the inevitable has happened, the other is now binding quite badly.

and im going away with the caravan in it tomorrow. Sods Law

what do i need apart from the caliper?

New bolts? new sealing washers for the Banjo fitting? New bleed nipple? ie does the caliper come bare?

I know how to do it just want to make sure i have everything before I Start, unfortunately for me it is too short notice i suspect to have it done under warranty in the morning.

Will do some pics Stan as i go along if its not peeing down. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Are you sure it is the caliper. I had the rear pads bind up on my RR, a good clean and they have been fine for the last 4 months 56 TDV8 Vogue SE

Yeah last time it was off i noticed the seal was a little bit scoobied, forgot about it.

Pads should be fine as they were done about 6 months ago with the other caliper, all cleaned up etc. so pretty comfident its the caliper, have ordered one from ecp,

What brake fluid are we supposed to use, dot4? There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Everything you need should come with the calliper. Really easy to do, just bleeding is really a two man job. My 2008 is on its second set of rear calipers!

Good job the Brembo aren't that Censored !

It's literally a half hour job. Thumbs Up[/code] My Previous RR's!

I have a helper in the morning so bleeding shouldnt be a problem, have a bleed hose and jar, all the tools i need and my caliper should be a ECP at 8.00 so all being well should be able to get away on time. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

I didn't change the bolts, just the calipers, both were replaced when the one was binding, 2 years ago. Dealer supplier the parts, the boys here did the work, no issues since. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

All sorted.

Really easy, couldnt seem to get hold of the replacement sealing washers for the banjo fitting, so i cleaned up and anealed the old ones.

Took about 20 mins all in including waiting for helpermonkey to bleed the brakes,

Helped that i had all the tools and a thin adjustable to get onto the slider bolts and a brake bleed kit.

I took some pics and will post them up when i get back.
Got a remanufactured pagid caliper (casing will no doubt be gen as they exchange them) cost ฃ86 with code ukpas25 less surcharge of 28.80incl vat when i return the old one! Bargainorama. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

Just noticed this post, we have brand new TRW ones in stock, which are more money than you just paid, so will be adding exchange units tomorrow for the next unlucky person reading this. Paul Redding
