MOT Today - Gutted!!

Got the girl in for an MOT today...and I'm gutted!! Big Cry

How the Censored can they charge 54 quid to look up a girl's skirt?? Shocked

On the plus side...

she passed with top marks!! Not even an advisory.

And that's a nine year old lady that's done 173,000 miles.

Just goes to show that if you love 'em and look after them, they will return the favour!!

Here's to another happy year of FFRR ownership. Thumbs Up

Sorry, but I disagree. I don't think it's worth it for people who look after their cars and keep everything up to snuff. I think it's just another tax grab against motorists.

We're just getting rid of our 'Air Care' inspections. Only city cars had to have it as it doesn't seem to cause pollution if your car spits out who knows what in the rural areas. Whistle

Also, all manufacturers were forced to offer 12 year warranties on emissions controls, so any dashboard warnings were usually covered.

Congrats to the OP/ Bow down I like to hear when well looked after Rangies are being good to their owners. Very Happy

But how do they know a person looks after the car till they test and see.
I am sure most people given the chance to avoid an MOT/WoF would say yes I look after my car and keep everything up to snuff.
I use it as a check for things that I sometimes miss and take great pride when told my RR has passed with flying colours.

Hey guys,

I'm not against having to get the girl MOT'ed, quite the opposite!! We need a system to ensure that 'dangerous' or unroadworthy cars are kept off our highways.

I am 'gutted' at the cost of an MOT now as compared to a few years ago, the cost has skyrocketed!! But also some of the MOT test requirements are starting to get a bit OTT.

I spend a lot of time and money making sure my motors (all three of them!!) are all well looked after and up to scratch, especially as I live in a rural area and rely on my vehicles for work. I was full of pride and joy that my girl passed with flying colours and no advisories, as it's a testament to how well I look after her.

I just wish it didn't cost so much to get a 'pat' on the back!!
