I'm looking to do a really thorough interior deep clean on a 55 S/C and wondered if anyone had any experience of using this type of product.

Just not sure about the effects of Chlorine Dioxide on leather and the other sensitive looking materials.

Whilst I want to get the car clean I don't fancy buying new seats afterwards.

No idea of the effect on leather, but i doubt its worth the risk.

I did mine a few months back, i hired a karcher wet vac from travis perkins, and did all the carlets and mats, then used leather cleaner on the seats and dash, and armorall dash wipes on the plastic trim and door cards. I didnt bother with the small brush to get into the crevices as the kids eat crisps etc in the back so its permenantly getting dirty. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Huggies fragrance free baby wipes are superb for safe and vigourous cleaning of car interiors, leather and plastics and leave no residue as they are water based.

I've also had excellent results on all interior surfaces including removing marks from light coloured headlinings using Autoglym Interior Shampoo (Green labelled 500 ml spray nozzle bottle). It can be diluted in warm water or for more concentrated marks sprayed directly onto the affected area and wipes clean with a clean microfibre cloth.

Zymol on leather for me. Removes stains and odours very well.

I put a description in my car blog on how i did mine and i spent most of a day on the interior, seat by seat, cranny by cranny

Simply put, quite warm water to wipe down the surfaces with a woollen wash mitt and rinsing after each surface.

Then open the seats right up, so straighten the front seats and recline them fully to open the normally creased leather and do the same, treating the seat back and seat base separately.

The warm water helps get into the ground in dirt.
Then spray the zymol on and work it in by hand over most panels gently but then for the creases and stitched areas i use a soft nail brush to make sure its working the dirt out.

Then the woollen wash mitt comes out to soak it all up and then rinse and keep doing that area until there are no bubbles being formed. Then dry off with a soft towel

The steering wheel is the same but i use the nailbrush all over the leather section to help get any gunk off it, as it sure builds up on there!

Dont be afraid to move seats around to get at the bits that aren't easy, mine often end up travelling all the way forward and back to make sure i get at the sides.

Then give it a day to fully dry and then gliptone it. I dont apply loads of gliptone per sitting but still give that a day to fully cure as well, the hardest part is the drivers seat as you just want to get out there and drive it

If you dont have a full day to spare you can do it seat by seat as i once had to do before a holiday in the evenings afterwork, about an hour or less per seat doesn't take up to much time then  FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I use Vanish foam on my headlining, using a damp cloth.

Always do it when I buy another car, and then I just try and keep things off it after that........

Use an electric toothbrush and Auto Glym interior cleaner on the door cards, or Fairy Liquid if I'm desperate.
