Rear brake pipes.

The rear brake pipes (flexi/solid) on the rear hub assemblies on my FFRR are knackered. I've got new ones & set about fitting them. The near side came off easily but the off side had been rounded off by some previous bodge merchant. Its the nut that links the cars solid pipes that was chewed & now its sheared off. No great problem there, into my workshop & out with some copper pipe as well as the brake flaring tool. Now here's the rub. The solid pipe disappears along the rear bodywork & in behind some rather large plastic covers. Do the pipes run all the way along to the abs brake block or is there a connector block in between? I also need to know if there are any unusual brake bleeding methods?

Perfect mate, many thanks. Looks like I'll need to spend some time under the car taking off the extensive plastic covers. Evil or Very Mad The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!

I have this job to do. I am interested to know what couplings and connectors it is worth replacing and how you avoid draining too much fluid from the system and avoid a major bleeding exercise. Some photos under all those plastic covers would be useful. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

If your replacing the pipes on the hubs only, you wont need to drain the whole system down. There are two alen keys to remove plus the connections to the rest of the cars system unions & one banjo connection to the calliper.
If there are marks on the cars solid pipes then they run all the way from the front on the ABS block all the way back to each hub assembly with no unions. I'm unable to post pics as my mate is finishing the job as I have prior work commitments. Otherwise its not a technically difficult job at all.

Hope this helps...Robert. The reason women's minds are cleaner than a mans mind is that women change their minds more often!
