Mystery part under the cup holders?

Decided to remove the cup holders from the centre console today to clean them out. I found a removable hatch below them and this inside it.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what it is please cos it looks important?

FFRR 'feck off' button.

It will allow you to bully other lesser vehicle drivers, push your way down the outside lane, weave in and out of traffic queues, park in disables and toddler spaces, straddle two parking bays, pull out of junctions without stopping, and best of all it allows you to scare the 5hit out of doddery old f4rts who cycle in the New Forrest area
