Condenser fan

RR in for a dealer service. I asked them to look out for a high pitched whine which was constantly audible between 30 and 70 mph. They have advised it's coming from the a/c condenser fan. £550 plus 4 hours labour.

Sounds a lot Shocked Any thoughts?

Thanks. 2012 5.0L S/C

The motor could well be sealed but it has a shaft coming out to the fan itself.
The motors are in quite a vulnerable position and get covered in dirt etc as well as being very dry.
Well worth a few goes with sprays before coughing up £550 +4 hours labour. Big Cry Shocked
I find it hard to believe that is what replacement would cost.
I think an Indy would be far more reasonable about it.

Will try. Really annoying as LR Select warranty is particularly 'select' and doesn't cover the fan! Evil or Very Mad 2012 5.0L S/C

As above, but to make it easier to get at take the grille off, 2min job Smile

If it doesn't work is look at a used item to replace it as it's the first one I've heard of failing, generally it's the viscous fan unit that fails Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
