United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV6 Mariana Black
Two months on.

So after having had the car for a couple of months, I've soent a fair bit getting it up to standard although it wasn't too shabby in the first place.

Had a service and health check at my local dealership in Bury. Also got it detailed by my local guy and its come up a treat. I also did a couple of bits myself. I added the small gas strut which stops the lower tailgate from banging open and added the new style release button. I've also upgraded all the interior lights to LED ones.

This week, I managed to get hold of a pair of illuminating tread plates from Overfinch in Leeds for £225 on EBay. Although it seems quite a lot, they seem to be the cheapest out there. I also got a set of deployable side steps fitted by Duckworths.

All in all, I'm happy with the car. Touch wood I haven't had any problems with it. In the near future, I plan to change the battery before Winter sets in and get the bonnet and upper tailgate resprayed as its bubbling very slightly.

Anyway, here's a picture of the tread plate. I'll try and stick some more up soon.

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Looks great... were they easy to fit? Better to be irresponsible and right, than to be responsible and wrong.

The plates are held on by plastic clips and it's a case of pulling them off. The clips slide into a big groove on the plates and you can slide them out from either side. They can be re used in the new illuminated plates and there are some very helpful notches cut into the grooves to help you line them up with the holes in the body.

The most time consuming aspect is wiring them up. If you have a MY10 car onwards, there will be plugs already in the sill which means its just plug and play. On earlier cars, you'll have to tap into an existing live. I tapped into cables from the lower footwell lights. Whilst my car was in at Duckworth's, they very kindly tidied up my wiring by using bullet connectors rather than the masking tape I had used...
