Noisy Pump

Hi

I'm new to Range Rover Ownership but loving it all the same.

My LPG "pump" that sits next to the LPG tank in the spare wheel space seems incredibly noisy. Is this normal? I didn't expect to hear it running when in the car.

Paul

Pump ? Mine doesn't have an lpg pump. The only pump in the wheel well on mine is the compressor for the air suspension.

It is the EAS compressor, mine is noisey as well, could be its reverberating on something where its been moved from the spare wheel well. LPG systems wont have a pump they just work off pressure in the tank. One day your life will flash before your eyes......................................make sure yours is worth watching!

Thanks for that. Must be the suspension pump. Maybe should be mounted on rubber?

It will be the air suspension pump. I am on LPG and mine has been moved. I can hear my pump very clearly when working. Gone:

Golf GT TDI 150- Still got.
BMW 325TD
Range Rover Classic
Defender 90

most good conversions place the suspension compressor in the Offside cubbyhole and there is a special mount made by one of the larger manufacturers expressly for this purpose. with a bit of sound attenuation it's not too bad - and it only goes off if you change height
