We've got a retaining wall which was built by the housebuilders 12 years ago. It's constructed from engineering bricks ( for cheapness I'm guessing) and most of the brick faces have blown and come off.

I have had the same problem with some of the engineerings we used 10 years ago, capped my wall with them.

Like the wood clad idea a lot. That would solve another problem as the wall was extended to accomodate a conservatory build and I've always wanted to conceal the join.
