Hunting (Not the wildlife type)

Morning All.

A quick query if I may, as Im sure someone will know the answer out there.
The engine in my TDV8 has started to hunt and surge when cold. not all the time. You can feel it and see it on the rev counter It does seem to be better if I knock it out of gear and it seems to go away when warm. Ive tried a fuel additive in case it was an injector issue. Has anyone got any thoughtas please.

Many thanks.

Al

Many thanks Craig. Is there any way of knowing which is the likely cause. Are there any tests I can do at home to narrow the problem down a bit?

Cheers.

Al

I had a split fuel intake rail (low pressure) with similar symptoms. If its this you will smell the Diesel in the engine bay and see it looking down left side of engine as you look in. Possible fine mist of Diesel as well...
