Well, I bought the £80 one!

This thread will hopefully serve as a warning to people to avoid Jon Daunter 4x4 breakers.

I thought i had found one in good condition, as that is what the above company had stated. Good condition, With no problems, and will be cleaned before it is posted they said.

So it turned up (good delivery time to be honest) i duly unpacked it only to find large brown staining to the carpet and severe rust on what were once the chrome parts of the handle.

After 3 days of trying to speak to some one with the authority to do anything about it, I got to speak to Jon himself. At this point i want to say i consider myself to be a kind and very polite person, and hopefully those of you that have met me will agree. I’m not in the business of slagging off companies but this man was very rude, after saying that "you people with range rovers are never happy" he finaly said if you send it back we will try to clean it again (i would have to pay the £15 postage), how gracious of him!!!!!

I Politely declined, as i have already tried cleaning the stains to no avail, and what was he going to do with the rust!

Any way he has refused to refund me, come and collect it or arrange delivery. Although i got angry, i did not swear at him and remained polite but stated i will have to try a chargeback through my bank, at which point he said nastily "good luck getting your money back" and hung up on me!

Honestly how can people run a business like this? I have been in jobs that you have to deal with upset/ angry customers and would never have dreamt of speaking to anyone like he did! And its his own buisness!

Sorry about the rant but i am still fuming! Please avoid Jon daunters.

Hi Dave, Sorry for the late reply, I have not yet found one that is as good as the one i had before i ruined it. Im trying to get a chargeback on the one from jon daunter. Then i will most likely put that money towards a new one, if i cant find a decent second hand one.

An expensive mistake on my part.

i think the chap near me has one, i will pop round and check the condition, he wanted 100 for but i think h will come down, i had quite a few interior bits but did not want the boot trim, is it just the one part you want as i think he had all the boot trim. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Where did you find the RR with Aspen interior that was breaking ? I am looking for Ivory seats with Aspen piping.

That would be great if its not too much trouble, it is just the spare wheel cover that got the acid on it. But if you dont get a chance dont worry, im waiting to see if i get my money back from this one. Thanks again.

The Arab, I got my part from Jon Daunter but cant recomend them. Jon is very rude and the item was in very poor condition. If I where you i would find a local-ish breaker with the ivory interior (finding one with aspen piping will be difficult i think) and physicaly check the condition.

If you find one with light piping and decide you definatly want it to be aspen, then i can recomend the dye kits from gliptone. i have used it and found it very easy to use and very good quality.

i bought all the interior, it was a late 2006 car,the last year you will find our seats in, hence they are mint, i got all the door cards ect. i was looking for parchment to be honest but i took it as it was that good. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.
