New Boots! 275 55 20 nitto's fitted

I ordered some new tyres from usa and they arrived last week.Got them fitted and thought I would share a pic.
Not a common size in the uk as they are bigger than standard.I was running 285 50 20 cooper ltz but wanted to go a bit bigger. The grapplers are raved about on american forums so I thought I would give them a try.
speedo is reading nearly correct it says 30mph when sat nav says 31 so its near enough.

How did you find the Coopers? I've just ordered a set for my Golf. A good mate of mine owns a tyre bay and got them at trade for me, and reckons they're made by Avon. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

The coopers were good all round and have a thicker side wall than the nittos. The ride is smoother now with the taller tyre but i have not tried them enough yet to know if i have made the right choice! The nitto's are rated as 117s and can be viewed at nittotire.com

Just an update, you may have noticed im now selling these wheels and tyres. I am very happy with them apart from the fact they have slightly raised the gearing of my car. Normally this would not be a problem and may give better mpg when cruising but I do a lot of towing of 3.5 ton mobile classroons which are high sided and top heavy. I drive at no more than 50 mph with them and at this speed my car will not stay in top gear like it used to. Without the trailers it is fine and does not feel any different. I am therfore swapping back to a 50 profile tyre.

Ogy,

Thank you for sharing the pictures! I just bought the same RR as you have. Stornoway gray with the 20" Lux wheels.

I tried to send you a PM, but since I just joined it won't let me.

I really can't make up my mind about the 275/55/20 vs the 285/50/20.

Can you help provide any more information on your comparison between the two? Would you mind posting a few more pictures?

Also, I am debating between the nitto terra grapplers and the cooper zeons. I just had the Zeons on my RR sport which I sold at 275/45/20.

Thank you very much for the help!
