Powerfold motor on a 2007 FF

Hi all, sod getting my air suspension working ( refers to another post I made under Technical!)
Can anyone tell me how to get to the mirror powerfold motor on the 2006 - 2010 mirrors? I have looked in the WSM but it doesn't mention this motor. I can find reference to the earlier mirror motors which are accessed by removing a cap under the mirror...
Looking under the mirror, there is a possible cover that might come out, don't want to break anything though, if that not the way in. Would appreciate any help, eg testing etc, as the mirror is not folding at all. I miss this as where I park, I always have the mirrors in....

Last question, there are some cheap 2010 - 12 mirrors on the bay, might buy one of these if mine is knackered, will these go straight on to a 2007/57? I know the 2002-6 mirrors are different, not just in style but also incompatible with the control, wondered if it was the same after the change in 2010 thanks in advance, Les

Cant help on first bit but I don't think 2010 mirrors will fit. Bare in mind freelander 2 and discovery 3 mirrors are the same in appearance so if you look for a freelander 2 mirror might get it cheaper Thumbs Up Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Cheers Craig, never realised that, a good option then. Will try the motor first, worth a play as it might be something or nothing, eg microswitch etc.

Took the mirror off completely to have a good look, doesn't seem possible to open the casing at the swivel joint. Craig had earlier confirmed that you can't take the back cover off either. I tried removing the glass and motor, still doesn't help. The mirrors are assembled then plastic welded.

I guess that's why the WSM doesn't refer to the powerfold motor - it cannot be accessed.

Good news though, found one cheap on EBay, needs a glass but I can use mine - £35 delivered, bargain.
