That's what the Freelander1 was, and it saved the company at the time. Rolling Eyes The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

I personally disagree about the Freelander, it was a small 4x4 to compete with the likes of the Rav 4 and Honda CRV,there was a gap for it to fill, the Evoque just seems like an overpriced Freelander with a Range Rover badge and funky styling to me but I still hope it's good for the company and keeps people in jobs.

Freelander, Rav 4 and Honda CRV = Pointless gimmicks
Evoque, Q5 and X3 = Evolution of the above The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile

While it may lack a low range box, the Freelander is the same size as the original Disco.
Land Rover needed a smaller model as they were going to make the existing ones (Defender excluded) bigger and bigger...

I also feel like the Evoke (or whatever it's called) is just a RR badged LR to make it more fashionable and bump up the price for those who want the RR image.

Still sure it'll sell and they earn more on RR based cars than LR based ones.

True, none of them are something I would buy, I'm just not a fan of the Evoques styling, but then I don't like the X3 or Q5 either, by the way do you still own the UR Quattro in your sig?, grey really suits it Thumbs Up

Indeed I do,........ In fact, I still have everything in my sig and a few others besides! Shocked

The (Titan) Grey one is a 20v RR Turbo. I also have a Zermat 10v WR Turbo and a rather nice multi-coloured rally car!Mr. Green

I've always liked the UR Quattros- they've had a bit of a resurgance since Ashes to Ashes but them along with Fords RS 200 are my favourite 80s cars, I've never seen one in grey before but I think it really suits the car, quite partial to bikes myself, I've got a R1
