Oil is linked to the sump part number.
So £56.16 for the sump, £8.42 per litre for the oil = £115.10
The sump comes with the seal fitted, the other seal that is in the other kit is the mechatronic seal, we can get these from ZF and I know people suggest dropping the mechatronic and changing them but we have never sold one yet and do sell lots of these sumps (and metal versions). Bolts are reusable unless you change to the metal sump kit because they are shorter.

Not knocking the kit advertised, it is a fine set of parts, just showing a comparison. Paul Redding

So your kit has all that's needed and the other has some "extra" bits on Stans link that aren't essential? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

My thoughts exactly Stan!

I guess this would only be a "change" and not the much discussed "mega flush"? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

I don't regard changing the mechatronic seal as essential, the next person may have a different opinion of course.

What I might add though is the 6HP or 8HP series of box has the majority of oil held in the Torque Converter so just removing the sump will not get it all out, perhaps only 2-3 litres of it. a dry refill is close to 10 litres, that would be box out or a flush through. So 7 litres is an amount that must be based on a sump off, refill, drain and top up again, which is not a full oil change but is a good step in the right direction. Paul Redding

"Mega Flush" - Brand name of the machine, but I did have imported a Wynns version of the machine a short while ago and one of the Disco3 specialists is working his way around the country flushing the 6HP26 boxes in Discos (Did 18 one weekend alone) He doesn't sponsor on this forum so not fair to point towards him (yet) but I understand on the FF the oil cooler pipe would need cutting to do this and the a joiner putting in after? Paul Redding

And....

If I can persuade Mike from Dundee to invest in another machine you may have one a bit closer to you in due course! Paul Redding

Now that sounds very promising! Thumbs Up

Not sure about the pipe, but I'm sure it would be a major issue to rejoin, or even replace it? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Dear boringoldgit, when your ad says that the Meyle oil is "the same" as Lifeguard 6 - what exactly does that mean?

This gearbox flush business is beginning to do my brain in!

Same specification - Meets the LR & ZF specifications. As opposed to standard automatic transmission fluid. Paul Redding

I was given the new metal sump today and noticed that it does not have a drain plug , so ive gone back to the plastic one as in the future I will want to just drop and drain
