How to find a lost key?

I try to be very good with keys and have a box with all the "pairs" of keys in them.

However I have to move cars about for test drives cleaning etc and now and then I find I only have one key!

So frustrating and I always find it in the end but does anybody have a cunning plan to find that elusive second key.... Question Big Cry

Exactly the same here gaz, however what i do is put all the spare keys in one place (drawer in the bath room, really alkward to open, dont tell swmbo where they are) then all the keys we use on the key board.

That way we never touch the spares untill they are needed and cos the others are in use all the time we tend not to misplace them and make sure they are hung up when not in use. Works well enough for the 3 cars van and caravan on the drive. Thumbs Up There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Don't the 2007 keys charge up in the ignition though? My dad alternates on his BMW so neither key ends up totally flat.

I admit it should take a very very long time, but maybe something else in the mix?

You have a rack with two rows of keys. Top row you use on dates with an even number, bottom row on dates with an odd number.

I'm hopeless myself. Last year I didn't ride my honda sp2 for 8 months while I searched for the key (I had only one). Eventually building services found and returned it. In my defence it was over winter when I normally wouldn't ride it anyway.

Earlier this year I didn't use my VX for a couple of months as I couldn't find the key (I had only one). Eventually found it in a pair of shorts. I now have a couple of spares.

With the cars I normally keep the key in the car as they're garaged anyway.

Gaz - I have the key for the Nissan. Sorry, meant to return it.

The key batteries are not chargeable, well on the earlier models.

Gaz, invest in some "whistle and I will beep at you" key fobs, or this kind of thing:

You can now get gps locator key tags....

Called "Tiles", they work via an app and each has a gps locator in them so can be used to locate keys etc. though only a limited accuracy so wont locate it as "in your sock drawer" There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Spending a lot to get a new key is an excellent way to find the original. Banging Head
