Is it the one at the bottom of the engine around the oil sump area?

If so it's a common fault and an easy repair

The others are up in the area of the water pump and not so easy to access

Hi Thanks for the response, The Tensioner is the bottom one, No 2

The rubber outer seal on the tensioner shaft had been split! So time to replace the whole unit I guess. Current Vehicles: 2004 RR Td6,) 97 Nissan Terrano 2 SE (Old Reliable) , 1989 Merc S 260SEL, 79 XJS V12 manual, 85 VW Sirocco GTS

I currently have my Ac pump out and in the bench for new bearings and I think I'll replace my tensioner too provided it's not gonna cost an arm & a leg!

Hi Thanks for the prompt response.

Is there a procedure for removing and replacing the tensioner and is possible it be carried out with the AC still in place? Current Vehicles: 2004 RR Td6,) 97 Nissan Terrano 2 SE (Old Reliable) , 1989 Merc S 260SEL, 79 XJS V12 manual, 85 VW Sirocco GTS
