i have used many online parcel couriers, i have shifted alloy/tyre sets around the uk, with them, you send each wheel/tyre as a separate item, and send 4 together, giving you a slight discount. I sent a set of widish p38 rangy wheels/tyres for about £30 the set. you have to wrap them, but only really need a small circle or cardboard and a few bin bags accross the faces. when you search for say parcel2go etc, and input the dimensions, you dont have to be 'exact' so squeeze them down a tad, and you get the magic £6 a parcel. the guys never meusure! limit is 30kg and around 60cm diameter. then it goes up to about 17 per wheel.
a pallet is a pallet, whether its full or empty, its arond £75 but a godsend to move an engine, or interior. they collect with a forklift. all this saves us a day driving there and back, and the fuel!

note that if you are buying just wheel rims make sure the seller has wrapped them up properly cos if they are dropped they will dent very easily... ... - .- -.
