If its a puppy you are picking up I would suggest purchasing a small / medium folding dog cage from a pet store for the journey, this then can be used for the puppy to sleep in at night, something like this, http://www.ebay.com/bhp/36-folding-dog-crate

I second that - that's exactly what we did Thumbs Up

Although after 2 nights of crying, he now sleeps on the floor besides the bed Whistle

How big will the dog grow ?

You can get a guard for the top of the rear seats, or you can get one that goes from the floor all the way up.

We have a Chihuahua and she lives on the parcel shelf - we just put her regular bed on there.

A bigger dog would obviously have to go in the boot proper.

Ive got a small folding dog cage which should be ideal for a puppy. I cant remember the size but will check tomorrow and if you can use it its FOC obviously Smile

Right ok Great Dane Mr. Green at best I think its 3 x 2 so maybe not. How big is a six week old Great Dane?

Ah it would probably do the trick then. Ill look it out and take a quick pic tomorrow and see what you think.

My springer turned out huge and also got him from a farm down your way. Proper working dog parents who were also huge which should have been a clue! He did adapt to city life although we never had him in a cage which might have been a good move as he used to get spaniel rage and refuse to come out the car Laughing

I had one of these when we only had one and it's excellent. They're about 30 quid on the bay
