Got back to my car this evening to see the sickening pile or smashed glass by the drivers door

Wasn't in the FFRR - took my old Jeep to the station this morning & forgot that there's an iPod in a holder that was visible.

Looks like my insurance covers all windows on the windscreen excess - so "only' £90 - but will that affect future premiums ?

I can probably find one from a scrap yard for less money, but more hassle.....

Windscreen claims should not affect your premium, not sure about side glass though.

Personally I would call a local glass fitting company and get a price to have one fitted. Probably might be cheaper than you think. Not the national ones but a local guy with a van out of the yellow pages. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I'd find a breaker and fit it myself instead of the insurance as they never hoover the inside out properly either

No luck with breakers v- they wanted to keep the doors whole - fair enough I suppose.

Turns out side windows are more difficult to source than windscreens and for a less common car - main dealer seems to be the only source.

Fortunately my insurance company treat all glass claims the same - so £90 excess & job done.
