Damaged side-step & wheel - identifying the parts needed

Hi all.
Having only just got my FF - a 2007 TDV8 - I've managed to damage it within a week. Grrrrrr Censored

I'd parked up and when I set off I failed to negotiate my way round a low wall that couldn't be seen from the driver's seat. I'm so Censored off. I've not damaged a car for years, and it happens just after I get a new one......

Anyway, the rear 6-8" of the pass side side-step is scraped and the plastic is broken. The wheel has a 'heavy' kerbing mark on it (previously mint).

As far as I know, the side steps are OE. How do I find out the part number I need? And does anyone know if you can buy each side individually? I'm thinking the best bet is just to replace it.

Regarding the wheel, I'm aware that is no an original fitment, but comes from a later RR. It is a 20" 15 spoke 'smoked chrome' finish, and I've seen it referred to as type 18 or type 19 on ebay, but I can't tell the difference between those two so wondered if one was a typo...? All the spokes are the same, it isn't "some thick, some thin". Again, is there a definitive guide to identify what I've got / need? I'm assuming that finish can't be refurbed?

Cheers in advance.

Wheel refurb

Hi,

The website of prestige wheels/ link below refers to 'smoked chrome' as quoted below:
" Bespoke colours - generally if your wheels don't look like an average "silver" colour - you have bespoke coloured wheels - they could be shades of grey, black, two colours, smoked chrome or even pink! (Yes, we have refurbished pink wheels in our lifetime!) We generally ask for customers to send photos of the wheels in this case and our technicians will be able to see if they are easily refurbished on the mobile service or if they would be better treated at the main centre. In extreme cases we may not be able to match exactly and try our utmost to match as close as possible if you wish to keep the original colour. "

*** However, whilst I don't know if they do 'smoked chrome', this next firm is one I've used many times over the years and would always be my first port of call because the quality of workmanship, options they offer and customer service is second to none. The prices are very reasonable and the finish is durable/ stands the test of time:

Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover SE Td6 Zermatt Silver

I have Left & Right side steps in good order and I think they are factory. I took them off the 2012 conversion.

No bolts or fitting and all black trim.

£20 a side.

Collection ONLY though.

Hi.
Sorry for the delay in coming back to you.

Gazellio - thanks for the side-steps offer, but given where you are, collection is not an option for me - sadly.

For the side-step repair I got the plastic trim piece from the stealer and fitted that. A fiddly job to do at home, but easy enough. I was fortunate that the damage didn't really affect the rest of the step, just the trim, so it now looks fine unless you know where to look for the tiny scrape mark that is still there....!

For the wheel, having spoken to several different wheel refurb people, none of them reckoned the wheel could be re-touched without doing the whole wheel, and even then they wouldn't be able to get a good enough match.... so would have to do both wheels on one side of the car....! I eventually tracked down a bloke who said he'd have a look, and reckoned he'd be able to get it "about 90% ok". I settled for that, and I reckon he's managed about 98%. Overall, a fantastic job, and the car is back to looking superb!!
