As it is still under warranty, I would be careful of letting an independant do too much incase the dealer says the warranty has been voided... even though your Indy is probably correct! Previously..

All the indie did was a standard service, during which he noticed the oil leak, wiped it clean and alerted me. Then he picked up the car from my office two weeks later (today) and took it back to his workshop so he could check the leak again. Yep, the oil had reappeared. He's a very, very skillful and knowledgable guy, specialises in Rangies, but won't touch anything that could be covered under warranty. (Until it isn't that is.) 2012 L322 TDV8 Luxury

Sure, it's Tony Beradini at Classic Mechanical in Maylands. Depending on where you are, he'll collect your car from home or work and deliver it back to you at the end of the day. 9370 3688

I would not worry about an Indy having undertaken work on the car, provided they have worked according to schedules and have used genuine LR parts. Last year, for the first time ever, we used an Indy Specialist on a car covered by LR warranty. The indy did a full service, brakes all round etc (about £500 cheaper than the main dealer wanted) and within a few weeks, the suspension on the car failed. Took the car into the main dealer (well actually it was recovered on a lorry) and the warranty work was completed to the tune of over £2,000 GBP without quibble). |

Yeah I never worry about having servicing done by an indie and warranty by the main dealer. After all, warranty work is money in the bank for the dealer, they send the bill to LR, LR pay the bill and everybody's happy. But as you say, you have to make sure the service people are doing it according to the schedule. 2012 L322 TDV8 Luxury
