Recently after leaving my car unused for a few days, when I gave pressed the unlock button on the key fob, a loud intermittent bleeping like the burglar alarm has started which lasts for about a minute then stops. It then starts again and goes through the same stop/start cycle repeatedly.

It eventually stops after about 5 mins of driving and I was wondering whether it was telling me that the battery was knackered.

I have had knackered batteries in the past and not had this bleeping business.

The current battery is about three years old and so may be starting to decay.

I've never heard of this before and never had it on any of mine. If the battery was goosed I doubt it would use more juice to tell you it was goosed.... Discovery 4 HSE

Sounds alarming.....

But seriously, sounds more like a problem with the alarm than anything else, have you tried a battery reset. Seems to always be a good place to start. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

That is the battery

I have had it about 3 or 4 times

It get worse and then the car won't. Unlock anymore

In the past i tried to recharge the battery etc but now i know it has no sense in doing so and replace the battery
You will only buy days not weeks
