Further to my previous post dropped car in for alternator replacement. Full bill will be 774 euro. Warranty company maintained that work to replace alternator should take a maximum of 1.7 hours therefore they were only willing to cover the labour at 1.7 hours and replacement alternator 530 euro in total. They said if I could provide a landrover confirmed time to fix on headed paper they would reconsider contribution for labour. As we all know 1.7 hours is way short of the stipulated time of 3.5 hours I believe Land rover allocate .Anyway as I need the car back ASAP I agreed to cover the balance of 244 euro. Considering I only took warranty out in November at a cost of 675 euro for two years I'm happy enough. In future though I will seek landrover time to repair on headed paper as this might cover more for future claims. incidentally my mechanic had 6 hours labour down for job. All in all I'm happy I took the warranty cover out. Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

Based on their own data and information. Obviously most people wouldn't have a clue so probably don't argue. Looking through policy docs it doesn't mention anything to to with times allocated only that they will cover 100 percent of labour Present :2008 TDV8 HSE

What if they have a problem and the labour mounts up? I would be speaking to the warranty people again emphasising that the manufacturer of the car states 3.5 hours.......

Thanks Guys Car protect is the company. In future I will reference Topix as they have fix times in there which you can access if you input your vin as referenced by another member . I have never dealt with a warranty company before and as I needed car back ASAP wasn't in the frame of mind to argue with them.

Just read this for first time. A LR main dealer Master Tech told me last year that if they exceed the allocated time on any given repair, they get emails from Head Office seeking explanations as to why. |
