Good news indeed...
When i hear stories like this i worry a bit that there could be a future problem building up in the new car market in general. From the article posted above:-

It's cheap finance again... It's easier and cheaper to buy a new car than a 2nd hand car.
I have seen a few of our local garages with more trade ins on the lot than ever.
A motor trade friend tells me it is harder to sell a 2nd hand car than a new one. I really do hope this is not another bubble that will burst.... Previously..

As the owner of an elderly car that's not worth very much I'm very pleased it's a buyers market in the second hand market!

Don't get too excited it means your cars are worth less than you hoped....

It's already not worth much. Far more important is the price of newer cars if I replace it.

Car dealers always say that

As well as "how much do u need for it?".........in hope u say several thousand less than their top offering
