BRC lpg

There seem to be lots of conversions out there but I only recognize a few names. Is BRC a known make? I know Prinz and my old LSE has a Stako system. Any more to be pleased about or to avoid?

from what I have seen on this forum, it's not so much the manufacturer that you need to make the decision about and more about the installer and their experience of fitting kits to Fatties

I think that's a fair point. Are we talking about more than neat and tidy installs? Presumably the basics have to be correct or it won't work? Pipes could be rerouted to tidy up if necessary.

Hi David,

Got the BRC system on a FFRR 2006 S/C and the installation is neat. Had a bit of an issue with one set of LPG injectors (above 4 of the cylinders) coming loose on the top of the engine, but Warren from atozlpg (http://www.atoz-lpg.co.uk) fixed that and it is running fine. Warren's view it that the BRC system is one of the best to get and he is a very knowledgeable chap when it comes to LPG systems.

0.69p a litre and the car goes like a devil dog! Go for it!

Good to know Andy, thanks. My old LSE is going to need work (although the lpg has always been fine).
I don't really want a 322 but fully restored LSE on gas are going up and they need restoring by now.
But there is that certain sense of occasion around a 322 but it would have to be petrol/gas.

Agree David, Petrol and Gas is the way to go. The LSE is such a classic beast, good ones will only appreciate in value as time passes.

prins and brc are the better makes, but these are only good if it is set up properly. once setup the install data can be copied for a similar car. so, if using an installer that hasn't had aFFRR in, this will take a few visits to fine tune the setup etc.
I have prinz, and would defo recommend it. there are lots of plus points about all systems. I had a Zavoli setup on my old p38 and a previous one also. some people don't rate it, and also Romano, as much as prinz and BRC . there are always stories abound regarding badly setup and badly fitted systems, that put off people ever contemplating the idea entirely. but to me its a no-brainer. ignore stories about premature engine wear. (on the bmw m62tu44 engine) that is rubbish. mine was fitted at 60k, and now on 150k, and engine is superb, and using very little oil, and silent. At the end of the day, it comes down to cost of fitting, and quality of experience.
I cant recommend a dealer/fitter, as mine was on the car before I bought it.
its a neat setup, vaporiser to the right, in front of brake ABS head. and pipes to water junctions along top of right rocker, but allows rocker cover to be removed. 2x 4 separate injector units under the engine cover, and ecu/fuses etc in the ECU box to left.

here is a pic of my engine when I bought it.
you can see the gas valve and vaporiser to the right and some pipes running to the rear for water intercepts. to the left the x is the ecu in the box. and just to the right are the fuses. tank is in boot. in spare wheel well. I have mounted a disco 3 space saver upright in the boot. I had no parcel shelf anyway, so obviously, I couldn't use it now.

David, I have a stag system installed 4 yrs ago by autoprofessgas just north of Newport. Never had any problems and they give excellent customer service. A few other forum members have used them too to good reports.

I have a decent lpg place in Blaze who see my current car now and seem well thought of. I doubt its worth buying a car and converting it, cost wise so I'll keep an eye out.
Having said that I really need a good poke about one first. Anyone in north wilts happy to show me around?
