Stuck CD Changer Fixed

They Joy! It was the only thing not working on the car and has been bugging me for months since the magazine jammed.

I'd had the face plate off, removed plastic trim. Poked and prodded the mechanism. Wiggled it. Hit it with a screwdriver handle as discussed elsewhere...all with no success.

Today I thought I'd have another go with a hammer Twisted Evil only a small one mind.

Held the eject button in and proceeded to give the magazine a few smart taps and hey presto after a few seconds it whirred back into life and spat out the magazine.

Had the magazine in and out a few times until it recognised the discs but it all seems tickety boo now.

Cheers

First thing with a stuck CD magazine is to establish if any CD is out of magazine for playing - you can see if tabs are out on right hand side of magazine. If No then borrow the wifes pallet knife, insert it at bottom of magazine right hand side and gently slide it to left and Voila - the magazine slides out. Gentler than a hammer !
If a CD is in play position I think the only solution is to remove unit and strip it down assuming fuses at rear and fuse panel are OK. I have forced the CD back into magazine but unit then needed repair - unless anyone else some bright ideas.

Hi,

On mine it looked like the magazine must have changed discs during a bump and the tray got jammed in the wrong slot Shocked

Some hammer bashing while holding the eject button soon freed it. Works fine now and didn't damage the magazine.

Cheers
