Top Tailgate Adjustment

For those of you with a rattling/loose top tailgate or water ingress in the spare wheel well you would be wise to adjust your top tailgate. Its not always a damaged rubber seal.

The two side whirl rubber Nuts can do fine adjustment but not proper latch adjustment.

To adjust latch undo the six screws holding the plastic trim on top of the lower tailgate and remove.

You can now access the two TORX Screws that hold the latch bar in place. From the back.

Loosen these and the bar can be adjusted by over an inch.

Make the necessary adjustment and tighten.

If when you close the top tailgate panels do not exactly line up with wing panel then readjust until you get the panels perfect and the top tailgate tight and secure.

Takes less than 10 minutes. Thumbs Up
