Ezidab Crackle

Hi All, After reading about Ezidab here I decided this was the way I was going to get Ipod connection in my touchscreen equipped FFRR. Today I fitted the unit all went well I fitted the unit behind passenger side tunnel trim and antenna in top left of screen. When I powered up the unit it did its autoscan and found a selection of channels. I have a annoying crackle through the speakers while playing digital radio and it is also there between channels if I change channel. Has anyone had a similar problem I have tried moving the frequency the unit transmits without success I am unsure if this problem is related to bad reception of something to do with interference from the car. Any input greatly welcomed, Thanks Mick.

The FM modulation method of listening seems to be a bit of a weak point, which is why I use the Aux input by
connecting the line out of the Ezidab to the Aux in on the rear RSE connector.

One thing that might be worth checking would be the grounding of the antenna. Mine was like a rolled out copper sheet which stuck to the inside of the roof.

Do you happen to have an accident cam installed on the windscreen? I found that really caused chaos with reception on my setup. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

There are no cables above my house thankfully !! Alan I do not have the luxury of aux in I wish I did. I am very interested in your antenna grounding comment as this is something that I had not even considered. I am using Alpine KAE-5DA2 this is stuck onto the windscreen but had not fitting instructions could it need an earth ? Thanks Mick.

That's the very same as the one I have and it certainly came with a copper foil that had a sticky side to it, which was stuck to the inside of the roof. It was rolled up and it would be quite easy to miss it. It's rolled up and had a which backing to cover the sticky side of the copper foil.

Might be worth having a look? Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
