Not going/staying in Drive - TDV8 - L322

Hi guys

My gears started playing up today. I last drive the old girl about a week ago and all was fine.

When I put it into D, sometimes the D would show on the dash and sometimes it wouldn't. All other gears are fine. Even S mode works fine which leads me to think it's something electrical.

If it manages to stay in D, it works fine until I let go of the accelerator or touch the brakes. Then it will disengage and struggle to engage again.

Anything like this ever happen to anyone before? Anyone heard of anything like this before?

Appreciate any help or advice guys!

Sounds like a gearbox selector linkage issue, have a search. Just a matter of cleaning and greasing and all should be fine👍 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜
