2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Santorini Black

Help it stopped

Hi any ideas, I've a 2005 3.0 diesel today I was driving along and it felt like a slight miss fire then run okay about 4 minutes later I pulled over for something to eat and the car was ticking over normally but then stopped and will not restart

Fuel pump would be my first guess.......... sounds like lack of fuel.

Can you hear it buzzing ?

When mine failed, the AA man took the rubber hoses off my fuel filter, and watched when I turned the ignition on - no fuel through the pipes...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

What about tapping the pump.. Hard. I'm sure some folk have got it pumping again until they got a new one. I'm referring to the pump under the car. Previously..

You have to unscrew the plastic cover before the in line pump is accessible.

Under the sill near the rear passenger door. 2 nuts hold the plastic cover on. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

taken the pipe off the filter and nothing coming out of it is the cover for the external pump the one under the car or somewhere on the side of it n/s/r

Not sure what you mean.

The in line pump is under the car near the sill under the rear passenger door. Fairly big plastic cover under it, about 12 inch by 4 or 5 inch, held on by 2 nuts if I remember right.

Take that off and the pump is up there with the fuel pipes connected to it.

Think I'm with you now....... You'll have to lie on the road and look behind the sill on the underside of the car. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Top of fuel tank ;

2 is fuel pump

4 is secondary fueld pump.

Thanks guys I found the little and as suggested gave it a hard hit or two and the car runs again

Will be onto Dan in the morning for a new pump.
