Dear All,

I know there has been a fair bit of info on here concerning sat navs and discs etc. Being somewhat dense or just drunk on information, can someone answer the following:

1) I have no disc in my new 06 SC. I still have the disc in my current 05 SC - can I copy it at home before I sell the car?

2) If I can't copy the old one, what disc is the most modern one that will work in my 06 car? Can I buy a 2011 disc for example?

3) I've seen some discussion on upgrading the entire unit to BMW Mk4 - is that worthwhile doing to my car, or is it just for older non-touchscreens?

1, legally you cant do that ,but

2, dealers will sell you a 2011/2012 disc at a premium but you can buy pirated copies much cheaper

3, the mk4 upgrade is for older non-touch screens..

That's crystal clear. I'll start digging around for the right thing now then. I'll try and track down the latest 2011/2012 one, and if not then I guess I'm looking for a blank DVD then!

I got mine from Amazon for £14.99. Not sure if genuine or a copy but works fine in my 06MY with touchscreen. Won't post a link in case it breaks some rule but a simple amazon search for Range Rover DVD or Range Rover Map should find it. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

Try gpsundergrounddotcom and navigate to the forum then Land Rover

They normally have what you are looking for. Be aware thought that most downloads come in multiple parts, saved as a .rar file. They are free tools available online to combine everything in the correct order to make the complete file. You will need a Double Layer (DL) DVD and appropriate burner. Use good quality media (Verbatim always seems to work fine) and burn on the slowest speed supported by your drive.
