Non starting

Seem to be having a run of issues with the FF just now Sad - ended up having to be recovered from roadside today (thats the ASDA breakdown cover paid for itself). Basically was driving along at about 55mph and just a loss of power - no warnings came up on the dash at all and no warning lights showing. Turns over fine when you try to restart and thinking it may be fuel supply related. Picking up a new fule filter tomorrow. Looked on here and instructions suggest a need to de pressurise the fuel supply - 2 things , 1 how do I go about doing this and 2 if there is no fuel left between filter and engine do I still need to do this?

Any other suggestions on what might be amiss be greatfully received. Planning to check the connections to the fuel pump after tea tonight as this was another suggestion.

Thanks

Scotland 2014 Range Rover Vogue SDV6 Santorini Black

Ours lost power on the motorway a month ago and the reduced engine performance light came on. MD later told me that they plugged the diagnostic tool into the car and the reason for the reduced engine performance was because the water pump (connected to the supercharger I think/ mechanic said it was a known issue on the SC) had failed. They replaced the water pump. Don't know if your car will have similar?

Thumbs Up

Got a fault code reader and its not listing any fault codes at all and there were absolutely no warning lights came up on the dash at all. Hoping a new fuel filter will resolve it and read on another post that giving the fuel pump a knock with a hammer can sometimes help. Hope the rain stays away today............. least till its fixed.

Do you get fuel through the pipes to the fuel filter with the ignition on ?

Could also be electrical on the petrol engine.

A mate of mine had no end of trouble with coil packs. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

ok - new fuel filter installed and not made a jot of difference (only filter that not been changed since I got the car so was on the list of to do's. After a bit of further investigation on fuses/relays we have arrived at 12volts getting to the fuel pump ok but pump is not working so appears pump is the issue. Anyone any experience with reviving a dodgy pump or am I best just to replace it?

I take it you mean the inline pump ? Not the one in the tank ?

If it's the inline one, it won't last long if you get it going, so most drive to local garage or back home and swap the pump themselves.

Take the cover off and give it a whack. Might unseize it, but it won't last long.......

Just put a new one on. Genuine is best....... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Its the in tank pump - the 4.4 v8 only appears to have one fuel pump, got really confused looking for a 2nd pump but there isnt one - not according to the manual anyway. The part that you access underneath the vehicle on passenger side thru the small panel is the fuel filter.

Ah, sorry chap. I wasn't sure what the petrol rr had, no experience of the in tank pump I'm afraid.

Think it's just a matter of access under the rear seats and a pump swap......

If you have rave you'll have all the info. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8
