To matte or not to matte?

Looking for some input here what is the general concensus on a colour change to matte black I'm looking to give the rover a facelift and change the colour of my super sevens to gun metal grey

Just an idea of what the rover is like at the moment

This is an idea of way the rover would look

Not a lover of it myself. Saw a new Snort tonight in matte grey. Looked like it had been sprayed with a can of primer. Dreadful beyond words.

Its your car and your choice my friend... If it floats your boat & all that... Thumbs Up

Just be careful they don't wreck the paint cutting through the wrap into the paintwork when applying... We have seen lots of cars where you remove the wrap and all the edges of the panels have knife cuts & the whole thing needs painting... Nightmare!!!

Usually the owner does not know this for some years after the wrapping took place! Of course then being way out of warranty! Shocked

Cheers for the heads up Craig, it's not a wrap per say it's called permiwrap it's a permanent spray so no cutting involved just key the original bodywork and paint over the top, would probably be a difficult job to rub it all down again and would definitely need to be re sprayed but I really do intend on keeping it for its lifespan F**K IT you only live once

I'd consider it maybe if my paint was shot and it needed painting anyway, but I think I'd prefer a wrap, as it can be removed if you change your mind.

I don't dislike it, it's just that it's a bit more permanent than I might choose......

I'd have the wheels more of a shadow chrome if it were me, against the matte..... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Not a fan of the matte black.

If you are going to the trouble of having it painted, have it painted properly in a different black, think craig said that to me last year and i still havent gotten round to it! Respray in santorini would look diferent enough to notice. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

What's pulling you towards matt instead of (correcting if required and accentuating) the nice gloss black paintwork?

The car has at some point been in a scuff and had repair work done (badly) Big Cry the lacquer is. Starting to peel along the window seal etc, it would possibly need a respray I just can't see a correction being enough Embarassed F**K IT you only live once

To be fair, I didn't think the poll would end up a landslide.........

Suppose if you get it cleaned up and you still prefer matt, you can still do it......

Just a bit harder to come back the other way...... 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

The matt finish is now so common it has lost any edge on being different or original. I think is suits some cars, but when done to an L322 it just screams budget drug dealer to me. Tom
