In Suriname there is a town and a river called new nickerie, maybe Our Dear Jeremy was just talking about a new project overthere...... Whistle

A fiend of mine had the idea to open a bar for heterosexual white mails, he got stoned, my Moroccan friend opened a bar for homosexual muslim boys, he got subsidised.
Whites are called white honks, pigs, etc. Every rapper has the right to name everyone whatever they want, it's art and seen as artistic protest.
The white Dutch are called nazi pigs in these May days, when they remember the Dutch jews murdered in German camps, it is tolerated. Nobody does anything. Obviously we like to treat groups as endangered species and give the PC SS (super sensitives) the power to silence people they do not like.
I can not see the difference in behaviour between so called humourists, rappers etc and Jeremy Clarckson. I never use the word "nikker" (Dutch version) but admit to use the word "fatso" if a fat person is driving like a complete Aword in front of me or I might even say "dumm cheasehead" when a Dutchman is misbehaving. Even "dumm african" slipped out sometime. A hairless Aword would be "bold acorn" because the word acorn in Dutch has become the synonym for ass hole IMOH we all have our verbal weaknesses and invent names for people that are, for some reason, very recognizable and behave in a way we can't cope with.
Funny to see that the BBC protects their pedophiles during their lifetime and wants to sack Clarckson for using the wrong text.
Greetings from A cheasehead in France

there's some very pleasant music by elvis costello called 'olivers army' and may i point out some words in the lyrics,

Don't start me talking
I could talk all night
My mind goes sleepwalking
While I'm putting the world to right
Called careers information
Have you got yourself an occupation

CHORUS:
Oliver's army is here to stay
Oliver's army are on their way
And I would rather be anywhere else
But here today

There was a checkpoint charlie
He didn't crack a smile
But it's no laughing party
When you've been on the murder mile
Only takes one itchy trigger
One more widow, one less white Censored

CHORUS

Hong Kong is up for grabs
London is full of arabas
We could be in palestine
Overrun by a chinese line
With the boys from the mersey and the thames and the tyne
But there's no danger
It's a professional career
Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to johannesburg

CHORUS

And I would rather be anywhere else
But here today
And I would rather be anywhere else
But here today

so why isnt this record banned? ... - .- -.

It was, well, sort of!

The Telegraph

The BBC has provoked complaints after censoring the Elvis Costello song Oliver's Army in a 6 Music radio broadcast.

The Mail reports that the line "one more widow, one less white n----r" was edited from the song – one of British singer-songwriter Costello's best-known – on Steve Lamacq's 6 Music show last week.

A listener then complained to BBC Radio 4 programme Feedback, suggesting that the BBC had failed to understand the meaning of the 1979 song's lyrics:

The listener said: "Although it is not a nice phrase and I wouldn’t condone the use of the word these days, it is an anti-war song as far as I believe, arguing against British colonialism and the word would be appropriate for that song."

He added that he understood the lyric to refer to a pejorative term for the Irish used by British troops in Northern Ireland.

Well of course! But the reason it hasnt been banned is that its not the same is it! If the line had been

'one more widow, one less black xxxxxx' then that would have been banned, and Elvis Costello probably hung, drawn and quartered, but because the line is 'one less WHITE...' and refer to a pejorative term for the Irish used by British troops in Northern Ireland, then its acceptable!

Or is that being racist?? Confused Confused Confused

I looked up the origin of the N-word today and, like apartheid, it seems to have something to do with the Dutch during the slave trading era. In addition to that I have recently left Nigeria after almost 5 years and got a completely new view on the people there and it is definitely very positive.

To make a bit more interesting we were very involved with adoptions of Nigerian kids to the Netherlands and Sweden. Also with a Nigerian orphanage for handicapped kids.

I feel that the N-word and a number of other words with a strong discriminatory heritage can be offending. I also believe that we should tkae a step back and look at the situation here and especially who said this and where. These guys have gone through Africa. They have been doing some riske stuff in Alabama and thoroughly insulted the Mexicans. Plus that JC hates vegetarians (I'm a vego by the way).

I still think the negative reactions are BS IMHO. The UK has a formal policy where "interracial adoptions" are not allowed/discouraged. To me that is more discriminatory than JC using the N-word in day and age where it is losing its venom albeit slowly.

I don't believe JC is such a person, a discriminating acorn/eikel and that he used the word like he uses a lot of words that could and do offend. I would love to meet him in real life and have some conversations with him about his real views on life, vegetarianism (I am an anti convert vego, I don't like to try to make others become vego and I don't want my kids to become vego until they are adults and can make a balanced choice), smoking, cars FFRRs in particular etc. I love his books and Top Gear and would love to meet the man behind them as I think he is a very smart guy and not a bastard. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

+1 to the above! Thumbs Up

Top Gear used to be a motoring program when the likes of Quentin Wilson, Angela Rippon (yes really!), Noel Edmonds, Tiff Needell used to host it, now its just a 'lads mag' program, and yes, Clarkson does push the boundaries, but this latest 'outrage' is slightly different in that a) the clip wasn't aired, b) he asked for it to be cut, c) it was released to the papers possibly illegally.

I also think that the UK is becoming so sensitive and 'namby-pamby' to everything these days that it is fast becoming almost impossible even to use the words 'free speech' without someone reporting you!

Take another article in the news today for example, a couple in their 70's have planted flowers in a grass verge outside their house in Cheshire since 1999, basically to stop cars parking on the verge and chewing the grass up, leaving it unsightly and muddy.

This couple have now been reported by a council jobsworth and now face being charged with criminal damage!

Re. PaulTyrers remark on the couple being brought up. Sounds to me that the council idiot is going to be coming up for charges as well. If the couple can prove (should be easy) that their interaction actually prevented damage and that restoring it to its "natural" condition would result in damage, then they can take the council idiot to court over willful damage or something like that.

I hope that they do that and get that council some egg on their faces.

In fact the council should have them commended and follow their example or promote people doing that. It makes that town look a hell of a lot nicer I bet.

Working in Singapore shows how nice you can make a city look by planting trees/bushes etc. Driving through Singapore is a pain when it comes to traffic but a joy when you realize you are driving through the beautiful greenery. Some highways are like the entrance to a big estate, big trees on both sides !!! MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Agreed. The David Lowe incident just reinforced the point that the BBC, amongst others, is taking this whole racist issue far too seriously.

You're damned if you do. In JC's case, you're damned even if you don't. Si. <This is my name.

Just went through this David Lowe story, have they become totally insane? That poor man had to apologize for a text in a song from the 30ies? The idiot that complained should find himself a job or a psychiater and the BBC management should be send to the North pole in a swimsuit to get a nice white tan!
