Why not call the Evoque "Freelander Sport", the Sport "Discovery Sport" and the proper Range Rover just "Range Rover"? |

I understand the Evoque was changed to Range Rover at the very last minute as a marketing ploy to gain from the rr's popularity.

![]() Discovery owners are now going to have the same problem. I wonder what their solution with be. Pretty soon, "Range Rover" and "Discovery" are going to provide as much info as, "I drive a Toyota," which covers everything from the Corolla to the Land Cruiser and LFA. |

There was a plan to separate the brands at one point, a bit like when RR Classic was launched you had the choice of Series 2A for utilitarian or RR Classic for a more luxurious version. That was it back then, Poverty Spec or Posh Spec.
