Air Conditioning - Noise

Hi all,

I switched my AC on last weekend for the first time since buying my RR a couple of months ago.

All was going well and it seemed to be working perfectly. However, once I switched it off, I could hear a whining noise coming from under the bonnet - it sounded a bit like a motor. It was quite loud and I almost stopped the car to investigate as, at the time, I didn't realise that it was connected to the AC. I've just had LPG installed and was worried it was to do with that. However, after some fiddling, I realised that the noise stopped as soon as I switched the AC on.

Has anyone come across this before? I am thinking of getting the AC serviced to see if that sorts it out. I'm thinking of driving to the south of France this summer and don't want it conking out halfway there!

Thanks

if you think you have a fault and want someone competent to have a look do not go to an air con specialist.
my experience is that they are out of their league when it comes to the Fatty and will chat any old BS
look for a stealer or Indie that has the air con test kit and get it done by someone that knows the beasties

I got mine re-gas'd at the main dealer when it got serviced as they said they can need lubricated/ dry up. It's much quiter now.

Thumbs Up
