TDV8 RR EGR Valve

Hello all

I have a 2010 model RR Vogue SE which has just reported 'restricted performance' A quick code read from a mate suggests EGR valve B is the cause.

Which side is EGR Valve B?

Where on the engine is the EGR valve?

Does anyone have fitting instructions?

Many thanks

Simon

Try to get it sorted asap, seems the EGR valves playing up on TDV8's can lead to some serious issues if ignored.

And they'll most likely suggest you change both. I'm sure I was quoted around £800 for both Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

+1 for doing them both A, as they are both exposed and would be more work to do it all again for the other one in the coming months. & B, get it done ASAP! as your turbo runs the risk of over speeding which has destroyed a few turbos very soon after EGR replacement!

Thanks for all the help & advice. Both EGR valves are now out and I shall be purchasing two tomorrow (if they have stock at the stealers) I stripped down the suspected faulty one and found that one of the metal 'fingers' thats work the mechanism that opens and closes the valve had snapped off and jammed up the workings, meaning the valve was stuck open. I have noticed that the side of the engine that has the faulty EGR, all the pipes are full of dry soot. The other side with the working EGR all the pipes have a slightly oily soot. Should I be worried about the difference? Should I be worried about the turbo on the oily side side?

Oh, and I have only driven the car about 5 miles since the 'restricted performance' warning came on the dash. I just limped home so hope I've not caused any further damage.
