Will gearbox reset delete performance remap?

My car is having its gearbox rebuilt again due to a faulty part on the rebuild last week. The technician was trying to find the reason for a delay in engaging 1st gear and said he reset the gearbox ecu to see if it made a difference, which it did not. Oil levels were fine, so he is now stripping it down again.

My question is if my car had a previous remap (former owner) to better performance would it be linked to the gearbox ECU and now deleted from a reset for the gearbox rebuild or is the remap safe in the engine ecu? Tom
