Germany 2002 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Java Black
Hy everyone

Hello everyone! First of all, many congrats to the awesome forum! Have been checking it out for some time now and I finally decided to join today.
Have been driving the Rangie for about 10 years now, but only since +- one year, I can call it my own.
Always loved the car, the looks, the interior, even the sound (this might sound strange to some( Razz ...yes, it's a Td6 Very Happy ) since it sounds like a plane engine (IMHO). My previous car was a Land Cruiser, so obviously I was more than happy every time I got to drive the Range. Was a great car though, but in no way comparable to the FF.
Have been upgrading the Range over the last year to my taste (added some new wheels - 20 inch, couple of wood trim pieces, painted the callipers in red, added an audio device that allows usb connectivity, mk4 nav and some other things). Not really finished with the upgrades, there are still a few to come, will keep you posted.

Meanwhile, here are some pictures:

Looking forward to having a great time!

Regards

Thumbs Up
welcome the mad house, its sure a great place to be Thumbs Up
I see you had a cruiser, I too had a Land cruiser ( the 80 series 4.5 Petrol) was a great tow car for my Landy 90 comp motor, sold it with 225k on her as the tin worm was getting to bits of the tail gate and bonnet again. But the 322 is better by far! If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!

Hey Welshdragon, thanks for the reply. My Land Cruiser was the 3 door, 4 cylinder 3.0 diesel engine with manual gearbox. Was awesome to "drift" when raining Laughing Did not really use it a lot off road, sort of regret that now.. actually I would have loved to keep it, but cannot have 2 cars at the moment. I was told the petrol version was nice, but fuel consumption was sort of double of the diesel..

The 80 series was a great car, always loved the shape of the Land Cruisers. Did you have good fuel consumption with that petrol engine?
Here in Spain we normally do not have problems with rust, unless you live in the north, that is a different story.

My mpg when towing with the 80 series it was always 12.5 mpg and when not towing usually got 16 to 18 mpg, the LC was a great 4x4 and in all honesty if I didn't get a FF I would be driving the Amazon V8 facelift now as they are a great motor. I never had issues with it, just a shame rust is a killer on any car in the UK. If it dont work.......burn it!

Thanks all of you for the nice comments Wink

Want to keep the Range as stock as possible, so I probably won't change much of the exterior.

The mpg of my Land Cruiser was actually quite similar to the Range (when driven adequately). Normally it was between 27 and 25 mpg for the Land Cruiser and about 22 to 24 mpg for the Range when driven smoothly. The difference between both is when you do put your foot down to the max, the Land Cruiser would hardly pass the 24-25 mpg, while the Range easily goes up to about 17-18 mpg.

The sound of the diesel engine in the Land Cruiser was horrible, I have to admit that. I am sure the sound of the 4.5 was way better! Same here regarding the problems, not a single issue in 8 years with the car. What I did not like that much about the LC, especially the 3 door version,it did not have any suspension settings, while the large one did. They also used quite a lot plastic parts for the interior, not my cup of tea really, but despite that, awesome car.
