Prop, for some strange reason a lot of Dutchies seem to hang on to the war "in an unhealthy manner" IMHO. I can understand it for my parents generation, especially the ones that really suffered during the war/occupation.

Personally I think that it is not really about the war, more about being beaten by the Germans in football a few too many times. That is why 1988 is such a big year for the Dutch, even though it is a bloody long time ago to be harping on about an EU championship. I think the Dutch have a bit of an overinflated idea about the national football team. The individual players are usually good but team play is something that seems illusive.

Now talking about hockey (my favourite sport) is a completely different matter, there we keep beating the rest of the world all the time. So I say, forget about football, focus on hockey and let the Germans spend their money happily while on vacation in Holland. Stop keying their cars and that sort of BS.

Lets be fair, people like Angel help make this forum a nice place to hang around Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
