6' 6" Width Restrictions

Can anyone confirm if the FFRR will fit through a 6'6" width restriction where there are actual barriers on the sides. Can find a definitive width which is clear for with and without mirrors. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

2191mm over mirrors or 7ft 2 1/4in. 2009mm with mirrors folded.
So no it won't fit.

I can 100% confirm that Saturday with the other half driving, mine most certainly did not!

To be fair the 22" refurbed alloys took the brunt as they got dragged along the raised kerb!!!!! Censored Accept, some days your the pigeon, some days your the statue!

Thanks, surprised that they can restrict a fairly major road skit can't be used by what is a fairly common vehicle (as in there are a reasonable number on the road as opposed to something like a Hummer where there are only a few imports).

Now need to find an alternate route or use the bus route although that probably has a camera now.

I guess that we should use the outside lane on he motorway in some roadworks then. There is a difference between knowing your sh!t and knowing you're sh!t

I was under the impression that the width restrictions were generally on the larger size .
I regularly see white van man in his transit going through albeit on the slow side.
There is a 6'6'' restriction where I live and people with RRS and FRR pass through it on a regular basis.
However looking at Wikipedia (shouldn't be taken as gospel) it shows various dimensions on year builds.
The wing mirrors pass over the top of the posts on mine .,as they did when I had a classic.

I approach with caution those that I have never used before and indeed carry a tape measure .
I recently had a 63 plate 4.4 v8 courtesy car from Land Rover and in all honesty went the long way round (chicken me)

I regularly go down narrow lanes in Dorset with 6'6" restrictions and never had a problem. In towns however the concrete bollards may be more accurate and more damaging! I used to go over the Chiswick Flyover with my P38 but haven't tried with the FF. Anyone else been over that? 2012 5.0L S/C

Yep, I use the Chiswick flyover every weekday and it's been fine so far. Si. <This is my name.

Oops. I've got my facts wrong. Embarassed I use the Hogarth Flyover where the A316 joins the A4 at Chiswick.

Interesting bit of road as, apparently, the flyover was only designed for 5 years use in 1969 as a temporary measure until better roads were built. They weren't, so it's remained.

Anyway, there's a width restriction there as you join it. No idea what width it is, but my FF appears to fit through. Si. <This is my name.

You were right Thumbs Up and I was wrong. It was the Hogarth flyover that links to the A4 at Chiswick that I was talking about. Just checked on Street View and it's 6'6". 2012 5.0L S/C

Drayton Gardens restriction at Old Brompton Road end in Chelsea is tight but a FF can just fit through if careful. I think that is also a 6 foot 6 width. Tom

A motorhome can't though, as I saw on Sunday.

Hardly surprised. My motorhome is 90" (2.3m) wide without the mirrors.

The FF feels tiny by comparison. Si. <This is my name.
