P0489 and EML

After more than 12 months with no issues, my TDV8 has a fault this morning. It is P0489, EGR low.
I searched the forum for P0489 but find nothing. There are a number of EGR threads, but I am not sure which would be relevant.
A quick google was inconclusive and I wonder if anyone has any advice before I take her to the garage.
Thanks
David

Not something to be taken lightly or left for a while sir... Could result in turbo failure (common issue after EGR failure) Thumbs Up

Thanks Stan, interesting read and really useful for the diagnostics.

CTC got me very worried!! So I have just got back from dropping it at Stratstones to get it fixed asap. I like the car to be 100% and while they will provide the most expensive solution, they will fix it fairly fast. My indy has a 2 week waiting list!

I have also started to think about an SC instead of the TDV8

Stratstone quote is £1025 inc VAT for both sides Sad
Will be done Friday.

Craig, you say turbo failure is a common issue after EGR failure, but I don't see this in the searches I did.
What is a mitigation for this? Or is it a matter of time and it WILL happen?
