Thanks very much for that sound easy enough I guess the pin mentioned is accessed from the rear centre consul cover insert

Did mine a few months ago. Only comments are:

1. Messing around under the centre console fiddle. Lost a snap on socket in there somewhere.

2. The handbrake cable connector retainer at the hub was completely seized. Chopped the nipple off the end of the cable so I could pull it through then set to work with drifts, hammers and chisels to unstick the the flange at the back.

Other than that, relatively straightforward.

Handbrake still rubbish. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4

I am amazed that someone has not come up with a handbrake mod for the old L322, the issue seems to centre around the self adjuster under the console because lets face it handbrake technology has not change much so why is the L322 handbrake so ineffective,............mine improved with new rear discs and handbrake shoes but its still has to be pulled far too high with far to many clicks to hold the car.................

L322 Hand brake Cable replace

Hello RR Blue
Thanks for your comments when you were inside the console is the location obvious to put the pin once you have compressed the self adjust spring and is it easy to get at, I guess the rest is straight forward enough.

The manual says to tighten up the adjusters then back off the 3 clicks, I backed mine off just enough for the disc to rotate (one, maybe two clicks) This gives me a workable handbrake.

Re: L322 Hand brake Cable replace

Unnecessary quote removed

I did not need to do the compression/pin thing. I was able to work the cable heads out of the retainers manually. 2014 5.0 Supercharged Autobiography & 2015 3.0SDV6 HSE Lux Discovery 4
