If I have the car doors open for a while or tinker with the stereo (engine off) it only takes a few minutes for the warning on the dash saying "Low Battery Please start engine"

Just been out and tried mine which hasn't run since mid day yesterday. At rest it is showing battery volts at 11.9 / 12 volts and when I start the engine it charges at 14.5 volts. From past experience when using the radio with the engine off it doesn't take very long to get the low voltage message, I believe it is a Range Rover " feature " . Agueroooooooooo. 93-20

Do you love your car so much you sit inside it and listen to the radio? |

In my experience with large industrial diesels with 24 v systems (2x12v) , then each battery would have to be at least 12.5v to give a reasonable chance of turning an engine sufficiently to start it depending of course whether it was a cold engine or already been run etc. I think the screen voltage shown on the Range Rover is somewhat misleading as when entering the 753 mode on the screen then other things are already running in the background thus bringing the recorded voltage down. I suspect if you isolated the battery from all systems and then take a reading across the terminals then with a healthy battery a reading of 12.5vdc or even higher would be obtained, probably nearer to 13vdc. Hi rr 2010 is a bit new for a dodgy battery issue but we are talking about a range rover after all. Lol it is four years since new. The electronic load on the battery may have been so excessive that the "quality parts Land Rover use on such expensive cars that mostly footballers and CEO buy they don't give a ****) I would go and have the battery tested at a good garage you know and trust NOT a main dealer. A good replacement will cost you £120-160. You could try first disconnecting the battery for a while, can't remember the sequence for such a new car so search the forums.
