Carbon cleaning

Seen a few posts on cleaning the EGR valve and also re the blanking plate. I cleaned mine a while ago and it needed doing.!

I noticed a thread about this becoming part of an MOT test in the future (although not sure how they'd see it) and was wondering if anyone has had the carbon clean treatment?

A friend of mine has had his done but sold the car soon afterwards. He has suggested I can have mine done as he knows the guy so would get it at trade price (I thin around £60)

Is it worth it? anyone done it? Ash

Thanks Craig but I was referring to the full combustion system cleaning. Do they call it terraclean or some such.? Ash

I have had Terraclean treatment on both my FFRR and wife's Td5 Disco.

FFRR is slightly more economical on fuel about 2mpg improvement to 26.5mpg, and much smoother acceleration especially pulling away from standstill.

Massive improvement on Td5 Disco. Much smoother, quieter and quicker.

I've had my RRS Terracleaned - loads of carbon/soot came out of exhaust, so I assumed it worked. Regarding MPG and performance, its hard to tell as its a S/C, but I assume its improved  RR Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange 4.2 V8 First edition

Just had my 2007 TDV8 Terracleaned at 100,000 miles.

Pretty remarkable difference. 4Mpg more on a long run (150 miles) at the same speeds as I usually do.

No Uncle Buck style chuffs of black smoke under acceleration.

Kickdown and throttle response much improved.

Would definitely recommend it. - Ad augusta per angusta -

So big Edd Chyna wasn't telling porkies Laughing

They run a clever text service to find nearest place.
(I have one about 2 miles away... Must get round to it.)

Thank you for your TerraClean enquiry.

mine was £140. Took about three hours in total - they did a test drive to ensure the car was ok, then did the process, then did the test drive again. - Ad augusta per angusta -
