So the Beeb spent £100,000's in the High Court trying to get an injunction to prevent Harper Collins publishing Ben Collins book............................. "Because it would spoil the mystery for viewers if they found out who the Stig is" I'm sure most viewers don't give a toss about which third rate racing driver gets to drive the test cars.
I believe that Ben Collins was in breach of his contract for disclosing his identity (if he ever was the Stig!) so why didn't the BBC just sack him and then tell the world themselves why he had been sacked and quietly employ a new Stig...................... some of these guys at the BBC need to get real and try to save money and not spend it. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

But it's not coming out of their pockets.

Tell them that wages are being cut 20% to fund this legal battle and they may have had a whole new perspective. Rolling Eyes

If they want some nice sensible (slow) laptimes and to save some fuel and tyre rubber I'll happily go and drive for them for expenses only. After-all they can always use one of their clever machines to digitally create high speed laps for me........... Andy Wilman's (TG producer) take on the whole sorry mess: http://transmission.blogs.topgear.com/2010...e-is-ours/

It's no great revelation going on here. Collins used to do stuff in front of the camera without the white suit early on in Top Gear's life too. Remember the parachuting into a moving convertible Mercedes? Collins was the driver.

I fully understand why TG and the BBC are trying to protect their creation and enforce the contract that Collins signed, but the reality is, is the identity of the man in the suit is irellevant. The suit encompassing the character is the star and also the constant.
Put your costume on and dance for the cameras, Collins. We don't care about you as Collins, we only want the Stig - not you.

Oh and http://sniffpetrol.com/ of course have to comment in their own way, too! Not sure you should be reading this bit.

So after black Stig, white Stig will now jump a car off a building, what car should it be?
And do we now get a red Stig? or blue? yellow? pink? Wink

British racing green probably Wink

Yes, Sabine Schmitz would made a good choice. But as soon as people see that it's a Stigess, it would be obvious it was her... and then they'd have to find another.

Do we need her to be in a Stig costume? Make her the driver i say Thumbs Up

Does Collins think that people will read his book. The Stig was the star and he has tried to ruin it and i wouldnt want to read his Censored book
